Carmens Bar and Restaurante - Torrevieja

Been for Lunch for the first time and in the Summer too must have been mad it was hot but what a superb lunch. The starters was a nice little bite to wet your appetite I had the Melon Cocktail and my partner had The Mackerel both delicious. The second course which was the roast carvery was beautiful all freshly cooked and you got 2 slices of a choice of 4 meats and I had Turkey which was succulent and moist and my partner had the Pork and Beef you helped your self to the vegetables so it would be rude not to fill your plate, and we ate every morsel. The meat was tender and the veg was flavoursome. The deserts was huge in portion I had the Lemon Meringue which wasn't that tangy as I could hardly taste the lemon and the pastry was a bit wet and soggy and the meringue a bit on the chewy side but my partner had the Trifle which he said was the best he ever had. The drinks you had to pay for on top but for €9.90 you could not complain. There was ceiling fans spinning around at top speed but it didn't affect the humidity and they needed air conditioning units for the summer months. But eating outside wouldn't have helped so the restaurant couldn't be to blame.So all in all 1 complaint only. We did see a couple with a so called "Doggy Bag" pardon the expression but you don't come in to a top class restaurant or bar like this and pay good money to eat there if you take a "Doggy Bag" with you. A "Doggy Bag" in my eyes is used for your pets not yourselves. All in all I recommend this bar. They have weekly entertainment by 2 Fabulous Karaoke Comperes and also a quiz,play your cards right and a fabulous Bingo! This bar/restaurant is worth giving it a go. Try it for your self. The waiter/esses at the Sunday lunch and the bar staff are very pleasant and it has a variety of meals throughout the week.
